Teaching Jewish content should feel meaningful—not overwhelming.
If you’ve ever found yourself piecing together lessons at the last minute, searching for materials that truly engage your students, or trying to balance Jewish learning with real skill-building, you are not alone.
And it’s not because you’re doing anything wrong.
It’s because you haven’t been given the structure and support you actually need.
Hi, I’m Frannie
I spent over 25 years teaching in Jewish educational settings, primarily in upper elementary classrooms. I saw firsthand how difficult it was to teach meaningful Jewish content while also building essential academic skills—especially within a limited time.
There wasn’t enough time to treat them as separate subjects.
So I stopped trying to, especially since students are not Jewish for an hour a day.
Bridging Jewish learning and real skills
I started integrating Judaic content with general studies—bringing together literature analysis, writing, critical thinking, and project-based learning in ways that felt natural, engaging, and meaningful.
Instead of isolated lessons, students experienced learning as something connected and purposeful.
And it worked.
Students weren’t just learning content—they were thinking, writing, analyzing, and creating in ways that made the learning stick.
And the difference was clear.
-They were more engaged.
-Their skills improved.
-And their understanding went deeper.
Teaching the whole child
Every student enters the classroom with their own strengths, challenges, and experiences. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all lesson.
The most meaningful learning happens when we:
- meet students where they are
- differentiate thoughtfully
- create opportunities for active, hands-on engagement
My goal has always been to help students think independently, build confidence, and grow into capable, thoughtful individuals.
Why I created Menschenables
I created Menschenables because Jewish educators deserve more than disconnected activities and last-minute planning.
This is more than a collection of resources.
It’s a way to:
- bring clarity to your teaching
- reduce overwhelm
- create meaningful learning experiences
- and support your students in building real skills
